6/22/2025 1:54 PM I would request as full a translation as is possible, but I am most concerned about the date and ages of the parents. The data extracted and shown on jewishgen don't match what I already have about this family. TIA, Joel Weiner View the post with its 1 response
111218 Translation - Tombstone

6/22/2025 1:54 PM These two images of the same headstone were taken in May 2025 (left side) by me and about 7-8 years ago (right side) by chewra.com. Grave #279 in the Hotzenplotz old Jewish cemetery. Chewra says only that is Bendet and d 1836. I would like to know if there is any more that can be gleaned from these photos. Thank you! - Liza View the post with its 1 response

6/22/2025 1:54 PM Searching for paternal great grandmother's grave; she lived with her husband Judah, gave birth to multiple children in this town, and husband is buried in this cemetery. The cemetery record only recorded given name. May not be my great grandmother's gravestone. View the post with its 2 responses
111217 Translation - Tombstone

6/22/2025 1:53 PM I took this photo in the old Jewish cemetery in Hotzenplotz last month. In cemetery data in chewra.com they imply that this is a double headstone (well, they have graves #370 and #370b, and 370b from ViewMate request 111186 is verifiably the wrong photo). So if anyone can tell me, is this headstone for one person or for two? The names I have from old data are 1) Menachem Mendel son of Jicchak d 1843; and 2) Moshe Lejb son of Menachem Mendel (no date). Thank you...Liza View the post with its 1 response

6/22/2025 1:53 PM Attached is the first of four pages of a letter sent, I believe, to my second great grandfather Shmuel Yankel (Yonah) Levin, who immigrated to the Caucasus, and later on to the Land of Israel. Will appreciate your assistance in its translation. Thank you. View the post with its 1 response
111210 Translation - Polish

6/22/2025 1:53 PM I'm writing a social history of my family. This is the birth record of Julia Wischek, her parents were Samuel Wischek and Ruchela Adam, her parents were Israel Adam and Ester Schochet. I want to learn the details of dates, locations and occupations if possible. Ruchela was my aunt, Israel and Ester were my great-grandparents. Thanks so very much for your help. I'll make good use of the information!
Kind regards as always to you folks at ViewMate,

111211 Translation - Tombstone

6/22/2025 1:53 PM Two photos of the same headstone in the Hotzenplotz old Jewish cemetery. From cemetery records we know this belongs to Baruch Bendet son of Salomon (who was the son of David from Sidlov). chewra.com has a rather long epitaph at https://chewra.com/keshetnew/kweb/tomb_detail.aspx?tomb=12202&kid=0 even though they get the names a bit mixed up on their description tab for the grave.

My question is - the design at the top makes it look (to me) like it should be a double grave. Can someone tell me if it really is just one person? It's the only one in the cemetery with this particular design. Thank you, Liza

6/22/2025 1:53 PM Hello ViewMate volunteer,
This is a picture of my grandfather's birth record. He was Chaim Adam, and his parents were Izrael Adam and Estera Schochet. There is quite a lot of commentary written on the document and I would like a translation of information contained there. It may not be entirely possible as the writing is small and tight... But I appreciate anything you can glean from what is legible. Many thanks!
Kind regards to all,

Chaim Wolf son of Icek Lejzer + Szewa

I'd like to know as much detail as possible about this record as it may play a key role in identifying another branch of our sprawling family. Many thanks from the cousins group.
