Hoping for full or partial Hebrew text. Document is from Nick Levine, in the UK. He asked me to try to read it for him, and I'm out of my depth. Here's what I think I see: "Might be a tennai kiddushin. Bride's name may be Rachel. It's Hebrew, the script is elegant but hasty, and the subject is a wedding (habachur hahatan, bachupa and b'ahava jump out). It mentions kesef and k'dat Moshe v'Yisrael, but it's NOT in the nearly fixed legal form of words in Aramaic of a ketubah. Uses ha- prefix instead of -a suffix for "the" consistently. There appear to be 2 witnessing sigs, 2 other sigs (bride & groom?) and an officiant or recorder at lower right. I can't find a Hebrew date, though the last word tet-resh-squiggle-bet before sigs could just about be 5652 = 1891/2. (Tet-resh-nun-dalet = 1893/4, is an Israeli friend's reading, and he observes that po Vvyn is "here in Vienna"). Cheap paper, but perhaps carefully folded to carry close in difficult times?" |

This postcard was among my grandparent's things. It was likely sent to either Lutsk, Ukraine or Istanbul, Turkey. It was likely sent to someone named either Todres or Gendelman. Any help translating this would be very much appreciated. |

I would greatly appreciate a translation of this marriage certificate belonging to Shmuel Yitzhak Czarny from the town of Dobrzyń nad Drwęcą Poland, dated 1850.
the certificate is in Polish.
I understand that this is a bit difficult to write
But still, maybe someone will succeed
Mostly, what is important to me to know is the names of the mothers of the bride and groom, and if their maiden names are written
Also, are the names of other towns where the parents came from written
This is the first part of the document.
I am uploading the second part immediately in a separate file.

This inscription is on the back of a photograph of a young man or old boy in a military style uniform. It was likely taken in what is now Ukraine, but in the western portion near Lviv which was Polish at the time. It was likely take in the late 1910's or early 1920's. Any help with translating this would be very much appreciated. |

Hello! I’m looking for help translating an 1838 death record, held by the Polish State Archive (https://www.szukajwarchiwach.gov.pl/en/jednostka/-/jednostka/14210817, scan 16 of 35, record #33 on bottom left of that page). Indexed by LitvakSIG, I originally found it via JewishGen, where info shows as: Name of deceased JUDEL KOWIENSKI, parents Leyba & Sora. Died at age 65.
Town of SEIRIJAI, in modern-day Lithuania. I think in 1838 this was part of the Russian Empire, record is in Polish.
I believe this Judel is my G.G.G.G grand-parent.
I’d like help translating the full record. When trying to do translations on my own, an AI suggested it says “died without descendants” which would mean that this can’t be my direct ancestor. So I’m especially seeking confirmation about whether it says anything like that, and a full translation of the record would be appreciated.
