Translation and any insights or context. I believe it was written by my grandfather’s brother JACOB CEDERBAUM. I have 3 more pages of this letter and a second two-page letter signed by him (same paper and similar/same writing dates 1959) which I plan to upload weekly.
My grandfather’s name was Kalman Cederbaum and my mum always said he was from Lublin and Pinsk.

9/7/2026 4:48 PM I looked ahead at page 4 and it was signed Yankel Tzedarboym.

Lublin, March 12, 1951. Dear kind brother and your dear wife and children, be well all of you my dears. First of all I haven't received a letter from you. I have already written several letters and I haven't received an answer from you to my letters. So I don't know what to think about that. I even had the thought of whether you are alive. As you know very well, apart from you I have no one in the world. And if you have turned away from me I beg you have pity on me and write me about your health, whether I can still hope that you are alive. Dear brother I think about you. Perhaps you don't think that I am your brother, I will recall details about our home. You will see that I remember you. If you remember, you crossed the border illegally. And father (sold?) mother's earrings at Laye the milkman and gave it to you for (?) and afterward you came back.
9/8/2026 5:58 AM ... you crossed the border illegally, and Dad pawned Mom's earrings to Leah the milkmaid and gave [the money] to you for expenses. And afterwards you came back
