Akta 38 is my great-great-great-grandmother’s sister’s husband’s 1829 birth record from Andrzejewo or Zaręby Kościelne, Łomża, Poland. I would like it translated in full (or at least everything that isn’t the standard wording of a birth record).

Names that I would expect to see in the text are:

- the child’s name: Jusk ZARĘBER;
- his father: Szmul Zelkowicz;
- his mother: Golda.

5/6/2026 4:22 PM I need help identifying the town of Tzachatzev, cited in a translation I have of this original document as the location of the signing of this tenuim between Yitzchak, son of Leib, and Feige, daughter of Moshe. The translation also states the marriage will take place in the following year in the courtyard of the synagogue in Tzachatzev. Problem is I can't figure out what this town is. It's primarily the type of handwriting that's a challenge for me.

First - am I correct that there is a birth 02 AUG 1817 of a child named Samuel Bloch, whose father was Jakob Bloch?

Second - there's an entry for a child born 1 AUG 1817, a girl, which is bracketed with Samuel, and the father's name looks the same to me. Is this a twin sister of Samuel, and what is her name? 		View the post with its 4 responses

Third entry on the page - 12 April 1859

I believe this to be the death record of a woman known as Theresia Bloch. She may also have been called by first names Teiche or Reichele, and last names Nauberg, Nauberger, or Guggenheim.

The only bit of this I can read is the date of the entry and the name Bloch. I'd like to know what the rest of the record says. 		View the post with its 2 responses
