An alleged marriage certificate, of Chaim and Szprinca Hochberg, I would be happy to receive a translation of this, page 2 of four.

The first witness testified: “My name is Paltyn Moskowicz Szteynkol, I am 59 years old. I reside here in the county town of Wegrow, in the house at number 342, and therefore I am well informed about the Jew Chaim Berkowicz Hohberg, who was begotten from the father Berek Moskowicz Hohberg and the mother Pesia Michlowna, both still living, who is single and resides with his parents in the same town of Wegrow in the house at number 237, and is not bound by consanguinity to the Jewess Szprynca Knot who resides in the town of Sokolow, with whom he intends to enter into a marriage. He is already 31 years old, but he does not possess a birth certificate because with us it was not customary to draw up such certificates. Since my testimony is reliable and truthful, I agree to take an oath should such a necessity arise, and in case of its falsehood I commit to bear responsibility. In witness whereof I sign with my own hand.”

I am a trader and therefore I am well informed about the Jew Chaim Berkowicz Hohberg, who was begotten from the father Berek Moskowicz Hohberg and the mother Pesia Michlowna, both still living, who is single and resides with his parents in the same town of Wegrow in the house at number 237, and is not bound by consanguinity to the Jewess Szprynca Knot who resides in the town of Sokolow, with whom he intends to enter into a marriage.
