KNOWN: In Washington Cemetery, Brooklyn, Gravestone of Mordechai Sprinzen, son of Avraham Yechiel Michal, died Feb. 27, 1910, aged 67.I believe the Hebrew word in the middle is "sofer," for scribe. (Other records show he was a "rabbi"and a "talmadmaker.") I would like to know what the Hebrew description says at the top, under "Peh Nun"and if I am missing anything else. The 2nd last line of Hebrew is very faint. I presume it is his Hebrew date of death in Adar? See next uploaded image, which is a negative of the image, which may help legibility. Thank you. |

LIFE SKETCH
David Sloan was born to Leib and Toba in Cherkassy in the year 1882 (then part of the Russian Empire). According to family members, his original name was Yankel Yankelewitz (Yankel is a diminutive of Jacob corresponding to his Jewish name of Jacob David). David married Ida Feldman who was also from Cherkassy.
David died on January 8, 1952 and is buried in Montreal. At the time, he was survived by his wife and children as well as 7 grandchildren. An eighth grandchild, a son, was born in 1955 to John and Jeannette Sloan. The child was named after David in accordance with Jewish tradition. |

Response Translated by Michael Ryabinky, Boynton Beach, FL)
# 45
It took place in Posad Vyshkov on October 30 (November 12), 1901 at 11 am. Itsek-Yankel Bronstein (not clear), 43 years old, and Itssek-Faivel Tsimbal, a religious teacher, 39 years old, both residents of the Vyshkov settlement, appeared in person and announced that this date, at 5 a.m. in the Vyshkov settlement, he died Dzbanek Avezer, 2 years old, son of Srul-Gersh and Adasa, nee Boynos. I am truly certifying about the death of Aveser Dubanek. This act was read and signed by those present.
Witness: Yankel Bronstein
Witness: Itsek-Faivel Tsimbal
