Browse the VM archive to view user-generated images of Jewish historical subjects, documents, culture and places, up close. A new response feature now allows you to add your response to those older, often unanswered archived images. Please respond with relevant information when you can. Here's how. Sort the first column (VM ID) by clicking on the column title for the oldest or the latest images. Select an image. Next click "Add Response".

Alternatively, narrow your search by clicking "Search Archive," above, and type specific search terms.

Your input deserves our thanks and praise, for it may help a Gen'er in new and rewarding ways.
Countless unnamed and dedicated volunteers from across the globe deserve our gratitude. They freely offer their time and skills responding to ViewMate requests. Giving to others will come back to them.

Note: Viewmate's first saved image is #227.

To sort by a column, click the column title. Then click the sort icon [D] to reverse the order.
You will be able to view responses online if available. Items will open in a new browser window.

7/6/2025 9:04 PM Please help with translation / identifying the columns.
The far right column is "who was born"
I think it's a daughter, Rose. Correct?

Next column is father & mother + social status.
I want to know: what are the words beneath the underline?
Is it the mother's name?

I'm searching through Odessa birth records and getting confused with the father & mother column. Especially the word that looks like "reeno " — what does that mean?

Many thanks in advance.

7/6/2025 9:02 PM I would appreciate a translation of the whole document, but I am particularly interested in an accurate translation of the part relating to Zusje Bialostocki, near the end of the document.

Some context: the document is from Belorus archives via Yad Vashem, and is a 'list of accused people from the Bialystok region'.

Many thanks!

I think this might be a birth record of my grandfather's sibling. Parents were Szlama Glowiczower and Zelda Aronwald. I would like any useful information with dates including occupation of Szlama if listed.
