Strudel Dough Ingredients: See Strudel Dough Recipe

Filling Ingredients:

2 C ground Walnuts

1 C fine Bread Crumbs

2 C Sugar

grated rind & juice ½ Lemon

Grated rind & juice ½ Orange

Spreading Ingredients:

1 C Corn Oil

1 C Sugar

½ C light raisins (cut)

2 C Flour

3 lg or 4 small McIntosh or Jonathon Apples (peeled and grated)

Make filling by combining all ingredients.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Line cookie sheet with waxed paper. Make dough according to Strudel Dough Recipe. While the dough is resting peel and grate apples.

After the dough is stretched, sprinkle oil; sprinkle flour (like a smoke). Put filling in lengthwise column, then apples, then raisins and more filling. Sprinkle little bit of apples and filling over about ½ of table. Put overhang of dough over mound. Sprinkle oil and sugar over ½ of table. Roll to ½ of table; put sheet toward you; sprinkle oil and sugar over other ½ of table; roll. Cut off ends until reaching filling. Cut 15 inch lengths or length of pan (4 rolls). Brush tops with oil. Make diagonal slits in dough.

Bake about 30 minutes or until light tan color.

After baked, put on cooling rack covered with brown paper for a few minutes, then put on another rack covered with paper towels for a few minutes, then by themselves on racks to cool.
