Jews lived in Bendery, shteitlakh, and villages of the Bendery uezd region of Bessarabia/Moldova from the 17th century and even earlier. We will explore History of the region, History of Jews in towns, villages; discover Jewish Genealogy of Bendery, Romanovka, Kaushany, Chimishlia, Lambrovka, and other places. We will discuss Vital records (births, marriages, deaths), Revision lists, Business directories, Cemetery records for the region. In addition to records for towns / shteitlakh, we found records for Jews who lived in small villages among non-Jewish population. There are several Yizkor Books for Bendery and other towns in the region. They are all great source of information for the Jews in the region. Since there are not a lot of Jews left in these places, it is a huge issue of how to preserve any Jewish artifacts remained there. We also will go through the book on Jews in Kaushany, Bendery uezd.
