Jewish Cemeteries. New additions/updates:

  • Updated the Jewish Cemetery List in Bessarabia and Moldova
  • Added Grigoriopol Jewish Cemetery
  • Added Capresti Jewish Cemetery

Bessarabian Databases. New additions:

  • Bessarabian RevisionLists updates. 10745 records were sent to JewishGen.

    If you would like to get a whole set of records for the town from that list, please donate $100 to Bessarabia SIG General fund and the set will be send to you. And if you find your ancestors on the list, a copy of an original page in Russian may also be send to you.

New Section to the website: Wall Of Honor was added to celebrate and recognize our volunteers, to show what tremendous job they are doing for our community. I do not have enough words to show my appreciation to them! We have just started to put the names at the Wall of Honor. First twenty names you can find at Bessarabia SIG website / Wall of Honor section. If you know our volunteers, see them in your towns, or at the conferences, please thank them from all our Bessarabian community. Ala Gamulka is coordinating this project. Our thanks to Ariel Parkansky for technical support for the new section.

Rybnitsa New Jewish Cemetery Report. 825 records and 825 photos were sent to JOWBR.

Tiraspol Dalnee Cemetery Report with 77 unknown graves. 883 records with 844 photos were sent to JOWBR.

History of Jews in Bessarabia. New addition:
Goldie Steinberg, the oldest Jewish survivor of Kishinev Pogrom of 1903 died at 114 on August 16, 2015.

Towns, Shteitlakh / Tiraspol New addition:
Copy of a Birth Record of EYNIS Iosif Gersh, from Tiraspol, born in 1884 (Russian) and its translation.

Genealogical Conferences. Updates:
