This is an 1898 marriage record from Wysokie Mazowieckie, Łomza, Poland for my great-grandfather’s first-cousin. I would be grateful if someone could translate it in full (or at least everything that isn’t the standard wording of a marriage record).
Names that I would expect to see in the text are:
- the bride: Chana GERINGER/HERYNGER;
- her father: Szmul GERINGER/HERYNGER;
- her mother: Itta Refa MAZOWIEC;
- the groom: Berko Chacko SENDAK.

Handwritten postcard (French “Carte Postale” stock) in Yiddish, dated 1923 (appears to read “…1923 года…”, ~28 May 1923), from the Lindenboim/Lindenbaum family of Rybnytsya (Rîbnița), then Podolia/Bessarabia. I would be very grateful for a full transcription and English translation — especially any personal names, dates, and place names. This appears to be family correspondence sent to relatives in the United States. This is a contrast-enhanced version of a dense, faded original (unaltered original available on request). A companion postcard from the same correspondence, dated 12 February 1923, is posted separately. Thank you very much. |

Hebrew/Yiddish side of a 1928 duplicate of a 1903 Jewish community birth
record, Zemaiciu Naumiestis (Naishtot), Lithuania.
Please read the handwritten entry in the middle field, labelled
"yom u-shnat ha-leida be-milim (ha-ta'arikh ha-ivri)" - day and year of
birth in words, Hebrew date.
I need the day and month only. Is it 15 Elul or 28 Elul 5663 - or
something else?
This matters because the Lithuanian side of the same document gives
7 September 1903. If the Hebrew reads 15 Elul, that is 7 September
Gregorian. If it reads 28 Elul, the civil date was Old Style Julian and
the true Gregorian date is 20 September 1903.
The top and bottom fields are the parents' residence and the place of
birth, both of which I read as Naishtot - happy to be corrected on those
too. |

Two renderings of the same name, from the left and right of one document:
a 1928 duplicate of a 1903 Jewish community birth record, Zemaiciu
Naumiestis (Naishtot), Lithuania. Both fields name the mohel.
A - Lithuanian side: "M. KRAKA_ _ SKY" - I cannot resolve two or three
characters in the middle of the surname.
B - Hebrew/Yiddish side, same name, same clerk, written more fully.
Two questions:
1. Is the given name MENDEL?
2. Does the surname read Krakinovsky, Krakanovsky, or something else?
It is probably toponymic, from Krekenava (Yiddish Krakinove),
Kovno gubernia.
Note that B is a Hebrew-to-Hebrew copy while A is a transliteration of a
Russian-language 1903 register, so B may preserve the original spelling
more faithfully than A. |

Jewish community birth record, Zemaiciu Naumiestis (Naishtot), Lithuania.
Four fields, top to bottom:
- parents' residence
- day and year of BIRTH in words, Hebrew date
- place of birth
- day and year of the BRIT in words, Hebrew date
Please read the two Hebrew dates. My reading is 28 Elul 5663 for the
birth and 6 Tishrei 5664 for the brit - eight days apart, which is what
the brit requires - but I am not confident of the month words.
Context: the Lithuanian side of the same document gives 7 September 1903
and 14 September 1903. If the Hebrew dates are as I read them, those civil
dates are Old Style (Julian) and the Gregorian equivalents are
20 and 27 September 1903. |

This comes from an invoice from Wenig Monument Works in NYC for my grandfather's headstone. His Yiddish name was Herschel. I think the first word on the second line is Tsvi, his Hebrew name, which means the third and fourth words might be his father's name.
A translation would be much appreciated. :-) |

Hello,
Could anyone please help me transcribe and translate this Russian handwritten document?
The document dates from 1915 and is written in Russian cursive handwriting (pre-revolutionary Russian). I am particularly interested in obtaining an accurate transcription of the original Cyrillic text before translating it.
I would be very grateful if someone could provide:
1. A line-by-line transcription in the original Russian/Cyrillic, preserving the original spelling and pre-revolutionary orthography where possible.
2. A translation into English.
3. Please indicate with [?] or brackets any words that are uncertain rather than guessing.
4. The document contains the surname КОРЕНБЛУМЪ (Korenblum), which is important for my family history research.
I have already tried to read it myself, but some parts of the handwriting are very difficult to decipher.
