Search the Archive

Browse the VM archive to view user-generated images of Jewish historical subjects, documents, culture and places, up close. A new response feature now allows you to add your response to those older, often unanswered archived images. Please respond with relevant information when you can. Here's how. Sort the first column (VM ID) by clicking on the column title for the oldest or the latest images. Select an image. Next click "Add Response".

Alternatively, narrow your search by clicking "Search Archive," above, and type specific search terms.

Your input deserves our thanks and praise, for it may help a Gen'er in new and rewarding ways.
Countless unnamed and dedicated volunteers from across the globe deserve our gratitude. They freely offer their time and skills responding to ViewMate requests. Giving to others will come back to them.

Note: Viewmate's first saved image is #227.

To sort by a column, click the column title. Then click the sort icon [D] to reverse the order.
You will be able to view responses online if available. Items will open in a new browser window.

250 Photo Identification

11/27/2002 I am trying to prove that the person in this photograph is the same as one found with an identifying message on the back. One thing that would help is trying to put the clothing into a time frame, and possibly a country. Could anyone help? View the post with its 1 response
251 Photo Identification

11/27/2002 This is the second of the two photos I am trying to prove to be the same person. I think this is a later portrait of the same man. Again, putting the style of dress into a time frame would be a great help. Also, if the style of dress seems to be particular to a country it would be a help. View the post with its 1 response
