COMMUNITIES AND CONGREGATIONS IN
THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND

The Republic of Ireland is an independent sovereign nation.  However, the whole of Ireland was part of the United Kingdom until 1922 and all of the Jewish communities in Ireland and many of the congregations were first established prior to that date.  Members of the Irish Jewish community still maintain very close religious, cultural, social and family ties with the Jewish communities in the United Kingdom.  Accordingly, the communities and congregations in the Republic of Ireland, both past and present, are included in this website, notwithstanding the fact that they fall within an area no longer part of the United Kingdom.
