Basic 4: Explore the New Belarus SIG website
The Belarus SIG was established in 1998 to promote Jewish genealogical research in Grodno, Minsk, Mogilev and Vitebsk Gubernias as well as the Lida and Vileika uyzeds (districts) of Vilna Gubernia.

The website has a new look. It offers easy access to primary and secondary records to help you find your ancestors, search for records, and to learn more about your town.

JewishGen offers a value added Basic class in exploring the new website. Value added classes are free for those who have contributed $100. to the General Fund in the past 12 months.

This is a two week workbook class of daily lessons set up with skill building exercises. You may work at your own pace by downloading the lessons to your computer. Lessons must be downloaded before the end of the session.

This course is open 24/7 on the JewishGen forum. Here you can download the lessons and work on the exercises at your own speed. Tuition for this class is $18. The fee will be waived if you qualify for JewishGen's Value Added Services, having made a $100 donation to JewishGen’s General Fund within the past 12 months. Registration is open and will be limited to 50 students.
