Independent Study

JewishGen offers Independent Study where you write your own project and work one-on-one with an instructor. Looking for records? Hit a brick wall? Want to write a newsletter? Hire a researcher? An instructor will work with you to narrow the scope of your project so that you can make progress in three weeks.

Each Research project has a special collection of how-tos and its own set of questions about how or where to research, who to ask and how to gather missing details.

Course Outline

There are no formal lessons. Handouts available to each project when needed.

Skills you will learn

How to work independently on a project. How to plan, set goals, log data, resources and databases.

Format

This is a Personal Research Class with an instructor. It is taught in a private forum. The student will post their research project for individual mentoring. Zoom sessions in addition to forum discussions.

Application required.

This is a intermediary/advanced class

Tuition

The Tuition is $150.
