‘Reb’ is an honorific; it does not mean rabbi.

Moshe is Moses.

Yehuda is Judah. The symbol for the tribe of Judah was a lion. Therefore, some men with this name have a secular name related to lion, such as Leo, Leonard, etc.

He passed away during the month of “Adar II”. During a Jewish leap year, the standard 12th month, Adar, is replaced by two months: Adar I and Adar II.

The 20th day of Adar II in the year 5700 began at sunset on March 29th and ended at sunset on March 30th, 1940.

She passed away 25 Tevet 5721. May her soul be bound up in the bond of life.

Yente is a Yiddish name.

Her father’s name is given as “Ben Tziyon” (which can also be spelled Ben Zion). While this seems to be a “double” name, it is actually one name. It is often shown as one word: Bentziyon or Benzion, and is also often shown as a hyphenated name: Ben-Tziyon or Ben-Zion.

The 25th of Tevet, 5721, began at sunset on January 12th, 1961, and ended at sunset on the 13th.
