I received this from a cousin and we are tying to figure out who it is from and what it says. We are hoping it will clarify some relationships. TIA!

Here you go Helen. You wanted relationships explained, you got ’em! (hopefully)

The writer frequently uses an abbreviation I don’t recognize; I’ve transcribed it as “[ms.?]” and replaced it with “XX” in the translation. It would make sense if it stood for “my” or “our”, but it just doesn’t look like either of those words. (Maybe another volunteer can chime in and clarify it.)

At the top right is my grandson-in-law Arthur Löwenstein, below him is his wife Flora, daughter of Sauchen Rosenthal. Next to Löwenstein is XX granddaughter Hanny, the elder daughter of Ludwig, next to her is XX son-in-law Rosenthal; below him is his wife Sauchen. In the middle is XX son Ludwig and below him is li’l-ol’-me. To the right of Ludwig is XX son-in-law Heinrich Rothschild, his wife, below next to me is XX daughter Ida, [leaned on by?] XX great-grandson Hans. Above, Fritz Rothschild, to the right his wife Helene, daughter of Sauchen, next to her is XX granddaughter Lotte, Ludwig’s 2nd daughter. Below to the left, Ruth, Ludwig’s 3rd daughter. To the right is XX great-granddaughter Liselott, daughter of Sauchen’s daughter Flora. Hanna towers above everyone, even her father, and he’s pretty big himself - so you can imagine how much worry this tall girl has caused us!
