I am requesting a simple translation on this day of a sentence which I put through Google Translate and got mediocre results. This is from a mini-bio of a rabbi named Mordechai Katz and is referring to his son Yosef, who in his writings refers to a R' Moshe Yaffe as a relative of some sort, and then author of this mini-bio is explaining why Yosef would have been referring to R' Yaffe as that relative. I very much appreciate your guidance. Please ignore the numbers in parentheses.

On  Response
9/18/2022 7:30 PM He called Rabbi Moshe Yaffe his uncle, who was the father of the "Bet-Chet" [this is an abbreviation that can stand for a few different words]. He did this because his mother had an older sister, from her father (presumably, a half sister; they had the same father but different mothers?). This (half) sister was the mother of the Maharshal.
His mother also had a younger sister, from her mother (again, presumably, a half sister; they had the same mother but different fathers?); this half sister was married to Rabbi Moshe Yaffe.
9/21/2022 11:36 AM The abbreviation "Beis-Ches" refers to Rabbi Yoel Surkis A.K.A. "the Bach" Due to the abbreviation of the name of his most extensive work Bayis Chadash.

Rabbi Moshe Yaffe is noted as the father's (father) of "the Bach" [second one in parentheses].
