Please me to better understand Beile's record.
It seems Beile's mother was Mareim.
However I'm not clear on Mariem's mother. I was expecting Chana Basie, but I'm not sure that is what's there.
In addition, I was told that Mariem's grandfather is stated (syna).
However I was not able to read it.

Looking for an English translation. Also, I wish to determine whether the Hebrew death date can be read precisely, as that may help independently confirm the accuracy of the English death date. Also, in English we know the person who died in English as Nathan, but this suggests the Hebrew name as Abraham with a second name of Nathan. Would love to confirm this as well. |

Two witness signatures from two ketubot written in Safed 26 days apart, both in the Benjamin Zucker Family Ketubah Collection at the University of Pennsylvania.
A (upper): 13 Adar 5642 = 1882, ketubah KET Z38, the right-hand of two witnesses. This is the same crop I posted separately as ViewMate 115222.
B (lower): 10 Nisan 5642 = 1882, ketubah KET Z39, the only witness signature on that document. Written 26 days later, in the same town, but by a different scribe and in a different format.
Both are dense Sephardi monogram flourishes drawn inside a frame, and I cannot read either one. Two questions:
1. Is this one and the same signer, or two different men?
2. What do the signatures say? A letter by letter reading, as far as it can be pushed, would be ideal.
I would rather not say what I am hoping to find, so that any reading stays independent. Both images are at the highest resolution the originals allow.

I believe this is a Polish birth certificate for my great-great grandfather born in Opoczno (the first entry - No 52).
What I'm expecting to see is that his name is Mendel Mortkowicz, and was born on 28 Jul 1896, but I understand this may not necessarily be the case.
If someone could translate entry No 52 (the first one), that would be greatly appreciated!

This is a sharper, enlarged crop of the right-hand witness signature from an illuminated ketubah written in Safed, 13 Adar 5642 = 1882 (National Library of Israel record 990003034930205171, original Zucker Family collection, New York). The full lower band with both signatures was posted earlier as ViewMate 115081; a respondent there could read words in the left-hand signature, so this right-hand one is the one I most need help with now. It is a dense Sephardi monogram flourish and I cannot read it myself. I would be very grateful if someone could simply transcribe what the signature says, letter by letter as far as possible, without assuming a particular name.
