Category: Do you recognize? Approval Date: 10/20/2002 Family Surname:	Click the picture to enlarge	Meir Efrussi came from Galicia and settled in Berlin around 1895. Is this an ID card for a reserve soldier listed at the Austrian consulate in Berlin?

8/4/2019 3:56 PM	Right. The Austro-Hungarian Landsturm was a reserve force that consisted of men aged 34 to 55. It was intended to provide replacements for the front line units and provide a militia for local defense. It was divided into the Austrian K.u.K. (Kaiserlich und Königlich, "Imperial and Royal") Landsturm and the Hungarian Kgl. (Königlich, "Royal") Landsturm.
