These are from an embroidered piece that is probably about 2 yards long and about 18" wide (unfortunately I forgot to measure it). One picture and one line of the Russian appears at either end of the piece. It almost seems to be a Tallis. It is plain in the middle. Any translation and information about this piece would be most appreciated.

7/22/2010 3:05 PM I am not an expert, but it looks like it is in Belorusian, but I could be wrong and it is just very poor Russian. This is a type of towel (in Ukraine it is called rushnik) that was given on special occations such as wedding or it was used to decorate a house.
It says "To my dear grandson from grandmother Happy..." I don't know what the last word on the first row should be.
