This is a letter from my great aunt to my grandmother, grandfather, and my 2 yr old father who were living in British mandate Palestine.
My great aunt, her parents, brither, sister-in-law and their child had escaped to Uzbekistan, and only my great aunt and her mother had survived. This letter was written on their return to their home town of Kalisz.

My dearest Hana, Szulim and little Motek
Surely you will be surprised to receive a letter from us from Kalisz, but the matter is simple: we have arrived and want as quickly as possible to come to you. Here, in Kalisz, we feel most unhappy; every house is close and very far; in general, the first day I thought that my heart will burst from pain, but everything passes. We only desire to see you as quickly as possible. I hope that we will see each other yet. Please try to make it so. The beloved mother is anxiously awaiting for the moment of meeting with you.
There have been important changes in my life: I have a husband, although officially there had been no wedding. Certainly, you want to know who is my chosen one. Well , it is that man about whom I had been writing to you, that I have a debt of gratitude toward him, that I sent you pictures, but I don’t know if you have received them. He is Beiser Jakob, he has a sister in Palestine in Tel-Aviv. Below I will write down her address for the purpose of communications with her; perhaps, together you will be able to more quickly take care of matters.
Other than that, there is not much new with me. Write what’s new with you, how you are managing, how does life in Palestine look like. How do you feel. How about Szulim the little Motek. How I would love to kiss you all.
I am writing down the address I spoke about above: Zwi Thau Tel-Avic Richot Bezacl? N:40. Well, it looks like I wrote about everything. Perhaps, you might write that you received some news from Jos; we still believe that we shall see him. Now, my dears, I still have one more request: perhaps we can get from you some document that you are a daughter and a sister and that you are taking us in and supporting us. Of course, such a document must be stamped. Well, that’s enough. Be healthy; thousands of big kisses of your mother Maxx abd Jaszy?

Please direct letter to the address
Kalisz, Listopada 15 street, Jewish Commune for the Yellow ??
P. S. Something else, here soldiers of the Palestinian army are arriving and are taking away our relatives; if such an occasion were to happen to you, do what you can. Please don’t delay.
Macia?
Dear Hana this P.S. letter, please direct it to the sister of my husband at the address I wrote down for you.
T. S.
