Number 1838. Dated in Debreczen, 10 September 1897.
Informant: Lajos Hoffer, corset-factory owner, residence Debreczen, Piacz street number 2138, who verified his identity with his marriage register extract.
Father: Lajos Hoffer, Jewish, corset-factory owner, residence Debreczen, Piacz street number 2138, birthplace Székelyhid, age 37 years.
Mother: Mrs. Lajos Hoffer born Karolina Goldstein, Jewish, corset-factory owner, residence husband's dwelling, birthplace Makó, age 28 years.
Birth: the parents' dwelling, 2 September 1897, 5 p.m.
Child: boy, Jewish, Móricz Vilmos.
[Margin:] The father's occupation of "bath manufacturer" instead of "corset manufacturer", having been written in error in this secondary copy, is corrected according to the primary entry, and the thus-corrected secondary copy matches the primary entry in all other particulars.

(Both the occupation fields and the correction in the margin use the same word for the occupation, _fűzőgyáros_, except for the one spot where the copyist wrote _fürdőgyáros_ instead. Literally-by-parts, the correct one is "lacer" [meaning "corset"] plus "factory-with", i.e., a person who owns and runs a factory or manufacturing plant or whatever you want to call it.)
