This is the gravestone of Israel Brajterman. I do not know the name of his parents or wife if he had one. Sorry. Thank you. Ramona

I am not sure if this is the stone of the person you think.

The family name on the stone is not Brajterman, but KVAIT or something similar. Additionally, in the English near the bottom, the family name that follows "Israel" -- although mostly obscured -- does not look like it begins with Br, nor does there seem to enough space for a name of that length.

If you'd still like a translation, please let me know.

'Reb' does not mean rabbi.

It is difficult for me to decipher his father's name. It does not resemble any name that I'm familiar with. If I try to read it phonetically -- remember, there are no vowels -- it might be something like Yeshua, possibly a Yiddish nickname derived from Yehoshua, which is Hebrew for Joshua.

The 6th of Shvat, 5677, corresponds to 28/29 January, 1917.
