9/14/2025 2:40 PM Here lies ALIZA daughter of Reb Shaul.

=============================================
Aliza is Hebrew for "happy". Presumably, the secular name JOYce is connected to this definition. This is an interesting pairing I have not encountered before. In fact, I believe that this is the first time that I have seen the name Aliza on a tombstone. It is a beautiful name, but is not Biblical in origin and is a comparatively modern girl's name.

Shaul [sha-ool] is a Biblical name and is Hebrew for Saul.
