We would like a translation of the Hebrew on the marker to confirm both her Hebrew name and her paternal lineage.

The marker is located in the Cong. Beth Tefilo Cemetery in Ferndale, Mich.

8/24/2025 3:40 PM RACHEL daughter of Reb Shmuel

29 Tevet 5754. May her soul be bound up in the bond of life.

========================================
The Hebrew name Rachel is pronounced RAH-CHELL, with the ch as in Chanukah or Bach.

'Reb' is an honorific; it does not mean rabbi.

Shmuel is Hebrew for Samuel.

The 29th of Tevet, 5754, began at sunset on January 11th, 1994, and ended at sunset on the 12th. The date on the stone is the 11th, which would indicate that she passed away between sunset and midnight of that date.
