8/24/2025 8:49 PM I’m afraid that I cannot glean much relevant information from this stone.

The top line that is visible contains the date of death, which was the 2nd day of Menachem Av [also known as Av] of the year 5667, which corresponds to July 12/13, 1907.

It is therefore very likely that the name of the deceased and his father’s name was in the top section that broke off.

There is an acrostic poem of praise, most of which I cannot read. The first letter in each line probably spells out the name of the deceased. These letters are also almost impossible to read. If I had to make a guess, then I would say that it might be either Peniel or Penuel.
