We would like to find out how to get this translated. It's my husband's gg-grandfather, in Washington Cemetery.

6/18/2025 3:49 PM I'm not sure what you are asking.

The only Hebrew here is the abbreviation representing the terms 'here lies'.

In addition, there is a chance that he was a Levite, judging by his family name, and by the image at the top of the stone, which looks like it could be a pitcher, which is a symbol often found on the stones of Levites, as one of the functions of Levites was (and still is) to wash the hands of the Cohanim (priests) before they bless the congregation.

Are you possibly asking for a reading of the faded English parts?

Or do you want the English translated into Hebrew for some purpose?

Please let me know, and I will be glad to help.
