This is my husband's gg-grandmother - a kind soul fulfilled a photo request for me (Washington Cemetery in Brooklyn). We would very much like to have a translation.

6/18/2025 3:42 PM Here lies our dear mother

More outstanding than ten thousand

and deserving of many praises

the respected Mrs. Rachel Leah

daughter of Reb Shmuel

She passed away 23 Iyar 5663

May her soul be bound up in the bond of life.
-------------------------------------------------
Rachel [rah-chell, with the ch as in Chanukah or Bach] and Leah [lay-ah] are both Biblical names.

'Reb' is an honorific; it does not mean rabbi.

Shmuel [shmoo-ayl] is also a Biblical name, and is Hebrew for Samuel.
