I would be very grateful for the translation of any Hebrew name that might be here for Bessie and her father.

6/18/2025 5:48 PM Bessie had a relatively uncommon name: SHEVA. This could mean Sheba (as in the Queen of ...). It could also be derived from the names Bathsheba or Elisheva.

I do not see a direct correspondence between Sheva and Bessie, but here are some ideas (I admit that they are a bit 'stretchy').

It might be that the name is derived from Bathsheva, in which case the leading B's could be the connection.

Or, it might be derived from Elisheva, which sort of bears a resemblance to Elizabeth, which is often shortened to Beth, which can become Bessie.

Or. I might be totally wrong.

Her father was Yechezkel [yeh-CHEZ-kel/kayl, with the Ch as in Chanukah or Bach]. It's a Biblical name; the English is Ezekiel.

The secular date of death is April 23/24, 1938.
