Congregation plaque.

B'Nai Sholom Congregation, located in Harlan, Kentucky, was founded in 1931 to serve the Jewish community of the surrounding area. The congregation disbanded in 1969 due to declining membership. This memorial tablet was removed from Harlan and placed at the Jewish cemetery in Middlesboro, Kentucky, in a protected monument. After the monument was vandalized, the cemetery trustees made arrangements in 1991 to move the tablet to Heska Amuna Synagogue in Knoxville, Tennessee.
