Original owner: Boston United Hand in Hand Association, a fraternal beneficiary organization established in 1875 by workers in the Boston cigar making industry. They were Sephardic Jews from Holland who immigrated to Boston by way of England.

Front entrance to the Old Hand in Hand is at 2659 Centre St. Back entrance to the Old Hand in Hand and to the New Hand in Hand is accessed by the paved road through the gates further south on Centre Street, opposite Bonad Road. There are few aisle markers present and only in one area, interested parties may contact JCAM.
