The Home of Peace Cemetery is the only all-Jewish cemetery in San Diego. It was founded about 1878 as the Jewish Section of Mount Hope Cemetery, San Diego. Early records are at Mount Hope. About 1910 Home of Peace became a separate cemetery. The Jewish community of Tijuana, Mexico sometimes uses Home of Peace for burials. Burials at the first Jewish cemetery in San Diego, known as the "Old Jewish Cemetery" were removed to Home of Peace in 1939. The information was collected by members of the San Diego Jewish Genealogical Society. The cemetery office is at 7364 El Cajon Boulevard, San Diego, CA 92115.
