Information was transcribed by the Savannah Jewish Archives volunteers from "Bonaventure Cemetery, Savannah, Georgia: General Index to Keepers Record Books, 1850-1938" (Works Progress Administration, 1939). Only the Jewish burial sections, P and Q, are included (plus 1 entry from section R) and information dates from 1906 to 1937. Formerly the Bonaventure Plantation, the 160 acre cemetery site was purchased in 1846 for a private cemetery and became a public cemetery in 1907. The Bonaventure Cemetery administrative office is located at the entrance to the cemetery. |
