On  Response
5/5/2024 2:31 PM MOSHE DAVID son of Reb Yaakov

He passed away 28 Kislev 5694

----------------------
‘Reb’ is an honorific; it does not mean rabbi.

Yaakov is Hebrew for Jacob.

There is a discrepancy between the secular and religious dates of death. I suspect that the error is in the Hebrew date.

The secular date on the stone is the 11th of June, 1934; this corresponds to the 28th or 29th of the Hebrew month of Sivan (the 28th if the death occurred before sunset; the 29th if after).

On the other hand, the 28th of Kislev, 5694, began at sunset on December 15th, 1934, and ended at sunset on the 16th.

Therefore, I believe that the error is in the Hebrew date of death, which should read Sivan, rather than Kislev.
