Here lies

SHMUEL son of Reb Meshulam

He passed away 7 Adar II 5706. May his soul be bound up in the bond of life.

SARAH daughter of Reb Eliyahu Elchanan

She passed away the first of Chol haMoed Sukkot 5720. May her soul be bound up in the bond of life.

Again, 'Reb' is an honorific; it does not mean rabbi.

Samuel passed away in the month of "Adar II". In a Jewish leap year (which has 13 months), the standard 12th month, Adar, is replaced by two months called "Adar I" and "Adar II".

Sarah passed away during the holiday of Sukkot. The beginning and ending days of this holiday are considered the "holiest" days. The Intermediate Days are known as Chol haMoed. The calendar date of the first day of Chol haMoed is the 17th day of the month of Tishri.
