Here lies

Reb BARUCH BENDET, son of Reb

Yosef Levenson. He died 8 Tishri 5694.

May his soul be bound up in the bond of life.

'Reb' is an honorific; it does not mean rabbi.

The deceased had a double name, with both parts meaning the same thing. Baruch is Hebrew for blessed, and Bendet, a version of Benedict, also means blessed.

The 8th of Tishri, 5694, began at sunset on September 27th, 1933, and ended at sunset on the 28th.
