Leizer/Leo Erreich arrived in the US about 1951 with his wife and two young sons. He was born somewhere in Poland about 1913. A translation of all of the Hebrew on his gravestone, particularly his father's name if it appears, would be much appreciated and might help connect him to other Erreich families that I am researching.

Here lies a learned man, generous of heart, beloved by all

ELIEZER son of Reb Tzvi Hirsh the Levite, may he rest in peace

He passed away 25 Adar I, 5725

His Hebrew name is pronounced eh-lee-EH-zer

His father had a double Hebrew name; Tzvi and Hirsh are Hebrew and Yiddish, respectively, for "deer".

Men with this Hebrew name SOMEtimes (certainly not always) have a secular name that is sort of a sound-alike for Hirsh, such as Harry.

He and his father were Levites, which means that they were descended from Levi, one of the 12 sons of Jacob. This designation is passed from father to son. Levites played an important role in the Temples, and still receive recognition today.

He passed away in the month of "Adar I". In a Hebrew leap year, the standard 12th month, Adar, is replaced by two months, Adar I and Adar II.
