Here lies Meir son of Avraham and Breindel

He passed away Cheshvan 5741

May his soul be bound up in the bond of life

This stone is relatively unusual, because it includes not only the name of his father, but the name of his mother, too.

His own name is pronounced MAY-eer.

Avraham is, of course, Hebrew for Abraham.

His mother's name is Yiddish, and is pronounced either BRAIN-del or BRINE-del (depending upon which type of Yiddish was spoken).
