This is a family letter that appears to have been written in Hebrew. Hopefully, someone can offer a translation or a sense of what it contains. I realize it's a bit long, so very grateful for any help.

To my nice [delightful] children Nakhum and Sara may they live [common salutation] and to all the dear[?] members of ----- Shalom and all the best!
Your open letter [I assume it's a postcard] the we recieved on Sunday of this week had a dual effect on us.
We rejoiced to have been informed from it that you are, glory to the Lord - healthy and whole and that your are getting ready for the the coming trip, but the new that zou posponed the trip till the Sunday after Shabbat HaGadol made saddened our moods somewhat, especially [saddening] the heart of your [plural] mother who is awaiting you coming impatiantly and is counting the days and hours that bring you nearer to her. This longing mother already say you, in her mind's eye, coming to us on Friday morning, and she, as fast as possible, prepared everything for the Sabbath and gave herself the freedom to sit in your company and to relish your presence all the long day in which time was cleared - who so happy as her?
And now... now the pleasant dream is past and gone, and she is as though retreated from you a great distance for days and years. She imagined you coming two days before the holiday and here the holiday comes and goes, and you have saddened us without our having been able to repleat ourselves with the sight of you faces before and after the holiday. Therefore, please try, my son, to ask your bosses that they will let you come to us before Shabbat Hagadol, may they please give you the two days (Thursday and Friday) as a present, and you will make an effort to return their due by sacrificing [other] vacation day should the need arise. Maybe they'll agree to your request, and you will enliven the soul of your mother and all members of my house [my family].
We are all, thank G-d healthy and whole, happy and of good cheer. There is but one thing that gives pleasure to your mother's heart but not to mine, and that is: our youngest son, the strength of whose voice is greater than Schaliapin's and Sibiryakov's, as the youngest ["son of our old age"] firmly demands to be taken care of, but only by his parents, that is, myself and his mother, and if not, hethunders with a voice that will tear the heaven. For that reason, and also because his soul rejects any food but the milk of his mother's breast, all day long (including the night) your mother's flesh is thinning, and she rejoices in it because her clothes will fit her body beautifully, but I can in no way take part in this happiness of hers. And what will you say, my dear children, who of the two of us is right? Esther and Lealeh and all our acquaintances send your regards. Your mother and my children say hello to you and to all the dear members of ----- [your family?]. And waiting for your arrival, your father who loves you -----David Khayim Baron [?]
