No idea the context of this letter or who its written by. I assume the first of two pages but it isn’t labeled. This was either written by great-grandmother’s cousin, Rukhl Leah Levitan in Israel or my great grandmother, Ida Flatow in Brooklyn. I will greatly appreciate anyone who can translate this. Thank you in advance!

Written from Jerusalem to "much beloved friend Ida" on the 6th of February 1936, buy a religiously observant person [I assume this because the first characters in the letter are a abbreviation of the words "with God's help".

Possibly also addressed to "Ida and Ben".

Handwriting and ink are quite different from your recent submissions, and from page 4. No signature.

The writer [a female, because she mentions her husband in the text] wonders at not having heard from her from New York and mentions having received her letter from Paris.
Also mention someone who met "a good friend from Lomza in Haifa".

The hand writing is rather difficult -- the letter seems to be continued on the other side of this page.

The writer [a female, because she mentions her husband in the text] wonders at not having heard from her from New York and mentions having received and responded to Ida's letter from Paris.

Somebody - possible Ida herself -- "met your good friend from Lomza in Haifa" when the writer will have this person's address in Haifa she'll visit her as an expression of Ida's friendship. The writer received greeting from her husband -- he's apparently abroad -- and he was upset with her from not sending him Ida and Ben's address in the letter she wrote him. He wrote her something I can't make out, about such fine people that one should lend them money[?] this, possibly referring to Ida and Ben.

Then good wishes, and something about the situation in Palestine becoming worse, so she's glad they left.

I wish for you that G' will grant you what you want to be and what you want to do.

Concerning the merchandise that you transferred[?] to me write me what I should do with the money, who I should give it to or perhaps give [transfer?] to my husband and he will give it there and write me what -- did with what was left [with the rest?] it's a great pity ---- [that it should be wasted?]

She the mentions the people who have power of attorney and what they might do with the gold - she doesn't like them too much.
Something about the gold going to an orphan girl in Russia, it's a pity for every cent because people in Russia are suffering -- something about collecting money for people in Russia.
Something about the date of death [Jahrtzeit] in a calendar of the Etz Chayim Yeshiva, but she can't find "our calendar" however they will find the date in the calendar printed by the Etz Chayim Yeshiva.

She finishes her letter hoping to find them in the best of health, and signs off: Your loyal friend, with respect, Ester Ster [or Setter].

She adds that she's waiting impatiently for their good response. "Best wishes to you and to your good friend who I don't know"
"Maybe your friends --- aquaintances [?] will travel to Palestine, then you can send them to me I will do anything possible for your friends"
