Here lies

ZE'EV son of Reb Yosef Finn the Levite

A loving and beloved husband and father,

Trustworthy, and a he acted justly,

and he spoke the truth in his heart.

He passed away 25 Iyar 5722

May his soul be bound up in the bond of life.

'Reb' is an honorific; it does not mean rabbi.

He and his father were Levites, a designation that traces back, son to father, to Levi, one of the 12 sons of Jacob. Levites had special functions in the Temple service, and still carry significance today.

The 25th of Iyar of 5722 began at sunset on May 28th, 1962, and ended at sunset on the 29th.
