On  Response
10/21/2021 10:17 AM Here lies

a man, MOSHE son of the honored Shlomo the Levite

He passed away the evening before Wednesday, 24 Sh'vat

and was buried on Thursday 25 Shvat

May his soul be bound up in the bond of life.

====================================================

"Moshe" is Hebrew for Moses, and Shlomo is Hebrew for Solomon. The deceased and his father were Levites, who trace back, son to father, to Levi, one of the 12 sons of Jacob. Levites had special functions in the Temples and still received recognition in the synagogue today.

The date of death is phrased in an unusual manner, but it means that he died on Tuesday, after sunset, which would be considered as Wednesday on the Jewish calendar.

The Hebrew year was not included on the stone; it was 5630.
