Here lies

My dear husband and our dear father

MORDECHAI son of Reb Dov Ber

He passed away 15 Adar 5731

May his soul be bound up in the bond of life.

'Reb' is an honorific; it does not mean rabbi.

His father had a double name; 'Dov' is Hebrew for bear, and 'Ber' is Yiddish for bear.

The 15th of Adar, 5731, began at sunset on March 11th, 1971, and ended at sunset on the 12th.
