this is the first page of a letter written by my grandmother. I'm not sure of the language it is written in but it looks like Yiddish. I don't know who it is written to or when it was written. The only thing I recognized was my grandmother's name at the end of the letter. I found this letter in my father's papers after he died.

This letter is not in Yiddish, it's German, Yiddish is written in Hebrew alphabet and it's words are quite similar to German (spoken with a different accent).

The letter starts "Meine teure eltern" which translates to "My dear parents".

I think it could actually be yiddish and was just not written in Hebrew letters (although I've never really seen that before). It's hard to decipher but the bits that I can read sound yiddish to me. Possibly German with yiddish expressions/grammer mixed in but not pure German.

Transcription; read it with your ears, so to speak. Your grandmother was writing phonetically - possibly in the combined German Yiddish she spoke with her parents. As far as I remember, adding "niu" as a term of endearment is more common among Eastern Europeans. In brackets, the more standard German.
Some of the o's should be read/pronounced as a's, some of the i's are u's

wie ihrs schreibt as as die
Teure Mama is[t] gesund
angekommen; in [=und] as die Mama
denkt as dus [=das] land is schen[=schön].
Mein Teure Mamyniu [term of endearment for Mama] du
host mir sehr wenig fin [=von]
dir geschrieben ich bin sehr
nachdenklich wegen dir ich
benk[?] sehr, ober [=aber] die [=du] sollst
dich fin dem nicht ergeren
die sollst essen und trinken
un[d] kommen zwischen Menschen
