To whom it may concern:
I would greatly appreciate the translation of the
Hebrew inscriptions if possible. I believe Max Sussman Gin is a distant relative originally from
Jurbarkas, Kaunas, Lithuania. I would like to know who his father was. Any help provided would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Harold Ginn

On  Response
10/6/2021 1:31 PM Here lies

A man who walked in perfection [or: innocence], our beloved father

Reb ALEXANDER ZISKIND

son of Reb Yaakov Ze'ev Gin

He passed away on the 24th day of Sivan 5714

May his soul be bound up in the bond of life

========================================
'Reb' is an honorific; it does not mean rabbi.

His father had a double Hebrew name. Yaakov is Hebrew for Jacob. Ze'ev is the Hebrew word for wolf. His secular name MIGHT -- but not necessarily -- have been something similar to Jacob and/or Wolf.
