9/26/2021 12:44 PM Here lies

My eye, my eye, drops water, upon the passing of my mother,

the dear one, Mrs. YACHEH daughter of Reb Shmuel Lind

She died on the 27th day of the month of Tishri [?] 5679. May her soul be bound up in the bond of life.

=====================================================

The phrase "my eye, my eye, drops water" is from the Book of Lamentations.

There are issues with the Hebrew date. The name of the month, as spelled, does not exist. It looks like a misspelling of Tishri, but is probably a misreading by the engraver of Cheshvan. The '27' also seems to be incorrect. The person who composed the text might accidentally have taken the 27 from the secular date.

Assuming that the secular date of October 27th, 1918, is correct: The corresponding Hebrew date is the 21st of Cheshvan, 5679 (if she died before sunset) and the 22nd (if she died after sunset).
