On  Response
9/29/2021 3:41 PM It came to pass in the city of Brok on the 25th of November/the 3rd of December 1858.
Before me, the mayor of the city of Brok, Józef Rybicki, acting as Clerk of Civil Records for Non-Christian Faiths of the District and City of Brok, there appeared this day Moszko Gąsior, who supports himself with piecework, living in the city of Brok at 108 Pułtuska Street, and he testified that, in view of his intention to marry Ruchla Nutkówna Przestrzeleniec, he needs his birth certificate, but there is only a short time left before the wedding and he has encountered some difficulty in obtaining that document due to the failure of his parents to register [his birth] with the Clerk of Civil Records. He is unable to produce such a document so, on the basis of Article 54 of the Law on Marriages which provides for the issuance of a substitute document [in lieu of the birth certificate] to enable the wedding to proceed, he has presented two witnesses whom I know well:
Suchar Szymkowicz Mark, wagon driver, living in Brok in House No. 101 on Pułtuska Street, age 30, and Liber Abrahamowicz Rajczyk, living in House No. 176 on Rybacka Street, age 41. Under questioning from me, they stated that the person appearing here is someone whom they know very well since his youth and that they know for sure that his given name and surname are those that he has indicated and that he was born in the city of Brok, Ostrołęka County, Płock Gubernia, and that he is a son of the late Jew Jankiel Ajzyk Gąsior and Necha Szmulówna…
