Nowogród No. 12
It came to pass in the settlement of Nowogród on June 10th/22nd, 1887, at 5:00 PM, that there appeared [before us] in person the Jew Dawid Ber Szczawinowicz, a senior member of the Nowogród Synagogue Council, and, in the presence of the witnesses, the Jews Fajba Blumberg, a laborer, age 48, and Abram Podróznik, age 36, bookbinder, [both] residents of the settlement of Nowogród, and stated that there had been concluded in their presence on this day a religious marriage between Mortko Lejb Berkman, bachelor, age 18, son of the still-living parents, the legally-married couple Oszer and Raszka nee Chemiowny [?] Berkman, born in the settlement of Śniadów and residing in Nowogród with his parents, and Ita-Liba Lakierowicz, a single woman, age 25, daughter of Mejer and Chaja Lakierowicz, born and residing in the settlement of Nowogród with her parents. This wedding was preceded by a three-fold announcement of banns in the Nowogród synagogue on Sabbath days to the Jews gathered there for prayer, specifically on May 23rd/June 4th, May 30th/June 11th and June 6th/18th of the current year. The newlyweds testified that they had not concluded any prenuptial agreement. This document was read out to the witnesses and it has been signed by us, by the Senior Members of the Nowogród Synagogue Council and by the witnesses.
