It came to pass in the city of Łomża on the 31st of January 1880 at 5:00 PM. It was declared that, in the presence of the witnesses Moszko Szejnkop, age 70, and Chaim Lejb Moel, age 51, synagogue sextons and residents of the city of Łomża, a marriage union was concluded on this day between Mortko Berkman, bachelor, age 19, son of Juśko Berkowicz and Gitla nee Peltyn, the legally married Berkmans, residents of the city of Łomża, and the single woman Chaja Chodosz, age 17, daughter of Moszko Szlamowicz and Sora Abramówna, the legally married Chodoszes, residents of the city of Łomża. This wedding was preceded by three banns announced in the Łomża Jewish synagogue on the 5th, 12th and 19th of January of the current year. The newlyweds informed us that they had concluded a marriage agreement which was registered on the 10th/22nd of December of the previous year, 1879, by the Notary Public Edmund Kowalewski and the parents of the couple have expressed their approval of this union verbally. The religious marriage was performed by the Łomża Synagogue District rabbi Symcha Lejzor Rabinowicz. This document was read out to the assembled and it was signed by Symcha Lejzor Rabinowicz, the witnesses and us, the others being illiterate [in Russian].

[Signed in Polish:] Chaim Lejb Moel
